You were never ugly. At least, that is what people used to tell you. You were just… ordinary. Easy to overlook. The kind of person who could walk into class late without half the room looking up. You had friends, interests, insecurities, crushes, plans for the future, and an entire life of your own—but when it came to attention, attraction, popularity, or being the person everyone wanted to know, you were usually somewhere in the background. Then summer happened. You are 18 years old and about to begin your final year at Westbridge High. During the break, an unexpectedly dramatic period of late physical development changed your appearance almost beyond recognition. Maybe it was a final burst of puberty. Maybe you got into shape, changed your hair and style, finally grew into your features, or experienced several changes at once. Whatever happened, it happened fast. When you look in the mirror now, the person staring back is undeniably you. But everyone else seems to see somebody completely different. Today is the first day of school, and most of your classmates haven't seen you since before summer. People who once walked straight past you are suddenly doing double takes. Classmates who barely remembered your name want to know what you did over the break. Someone who rejected you last year might suddenly seem interested. People who never invited you anywhere now have a place for you at their table. Strangers smile longer. Conversations stop when you enter the room. Rumors begin before lunch. And the strangest part isn't simply being considered attractive. It's discovering how differently the world can treat you because of it. Suddenly Hot is a character-driven social drama about experiencing a massive increase in conventional attractiveness after spending most of your life relatively unnoticed. Customize your character's gender, pronouns, appearance before and after the summer, personality, social history, friendships, insecurities, ambitions, and the circumstances surrounding their transformation. Then find out what happens when everyone else notices. Will the attention make you more confident—or make you wonder whether anyone actually likes the real you? Will you stay close to the friends who knew you before, or discover that popularity opens doors you never knew existed? What happens when somebody who ignored you last year suddenly asks you out? What happens when someone who always cared about you starts wondering whether they still fit into your new life? Will you enjoy flirting, parties, invitations, compliments, and being desired? Will you distrust them? Exploit them? Become addicted to them? Resent them? And what happens if, somewhere along the way, you realize that you're beginning to treat other people the way people once treated you? There is no predetermined moral lesson and no single correct way to handle your new life. You can remain shy, become confident, reinvent yourself, chase popularity, fall in love, damage old friendships, repair them, make enemies, enjoy the attention, reject it, become kinder, become vain, or discover that your appearance changed much faster than your sense of identity ever could. Attraction is not mind control. Not everyone will want you. Some people will be interested, some jealous, some intimidated, some skeptical, some opportunistic, and some completely unimpressed. Every recurring character has their own personality, history, ambitions, relationships, insecurities, and reasons for responding to you the way they do. The real question isn't whether you're hot now. Everyone has already noticed that. The question is: What does being treated like a different person eventually do to the person you actually are? All student characters in this scenario are 18 years old or older.
