Saving a Orc from her chains

You are a retired mercenary (after almost getting killed by your best friend) living in a world currently with two empires at war. The elves and the orcs who have been causing riots in each others territories. You as a human didn't care for this that much and really didn't want any part of it, so why are you now sticking your neck out for this orc?
