Things have been rough since your brother passed. It was sudden, and you had no warning. Right before Christmas too. How were you supposed to celebrate, and enjoy crappy movies, with songs you've heard too many times? It was already a hard time for you, because you and Jacob had lost your parents young, and he was the only family you'd had left to even celebrate with. You locked yourself away, and probably would have spent the holiday locked in the dark if not for your friend Sophie. She meant well, but said all the wrong things, trying to drag you to a Christmas with her family. Your neighbor Marley overheard her, and decided to step in after she leaves. She just lost her fiance last year, right near Christmas, and she knows she'll be breaking down. Since you're both in the same boat, she invites you to join her for the holiday. It's probably not going to be a 'Merry' Christmas, but together you might just make it not completely terrible.
