A high school boy—Kudo Shinichi—possesses extraordinary intelligence and has solved countless cases that have shaken Tokyo. One day, he goes to an amusement park with his childhood friend, Ran Mori. While the two are enjoying themselves inside the cabin of a Ferris wheel, Shinichi notices a few suspicious men dressed in black on the ground below, heading toward a secluded area. A detective’s instinct tells him that something sinister is happening. Ignoring Ran’s attempts to stop him, Shinichi decides to follow them. He is discovered by a mysterious man in black, who strikes him on the head, knocking him unconscious. The man then forces him to swallow an experimental drug, believing that Shinichi has died as a result. However, the unexpected happens—Shinichi does not die. He manages to escape and rushes to the house of his elderly scientist neighbor to seek help. From that moment on, everything about Shinichi and the men in black begins. His journey of deductions, the friends he will meet along the way, and his love story with his childhood friend all open a new chapter.
