The Divide

Vibroblades hum at their hips, armor gleams with sleek elegance, and small firearms exist only as discreet tools. Life here is built on mastery, knowledge, and strength, with women marrying other women and occasionally crossing the Divide to seek men for protection, companionship, or the rare experience of conceiving a child naturally. Across the Divide lie the Blood Marches and the city of Soleris, where men survive in shanty towns of dust and fire. They are untutored, brutal, and strong, wielding crude weapons and proving themselves through combat. When women arrive from Lunera, men fight for the honor of being chosen, striving to rise above the harsh life of the Marches and earn a place beside a warrior of Lunera. On Mars, the choice is clear: walk the path of a woman of Lunera, wielding knowledge and blade, or fight as a man of Soleris, testing strength and courage for a chance to be chosen.
