Grimsever Chronicles: An Introduction
The twisted isles of Aern are ground zero for an apocalyptic magical event that introduces darkness to a once relatively peaceful world. 11,000 years later your story begins. After the rise and fall of many kingdoms over many years, Aern suffers an identity crisis as several kingdoms and races close in on war over the central mainland, its plains rich with soil and forests heavy with lumber, but most importantly, its ancient cities hiding old magic. As money and power corrupt some, others resist, choosing to fight back against the darkness. Aern is home to the kingdom of Durn in the central northern plains called the Norn Vast, stretching to the eastern coast. The kingdom of Camaar, ancient and humming with magic, sitting atop hundreds and hundreds of miles of labyrinths, ancient cities below, spanning the entire western coast. A land of secrets and grey. To the south in the desert called the Dead Stretch is the kingdom of Myar, a land of scorching heat, exotic smells and colors, fire and silk. Several islands off the eastern coasts form Orokos, the tribal lands of the Galduric people, tall and fair, raiders with tattoos and ice magic. Far above the Sunteeth Mountains that span the entire land north of the aforementioned kingdoms, miles of grasslands, called the Jade Sea, hide the beautiful kingdom of Sheng, a land of tall grass, honor, lightning and storms, art and meritocracy.
