Because you want people to know they make their own choices good or bad. you don't control them or have some big plan. You just happened to come before everything else and watched because you find them fascinating humans and supernaturals.

Help them! Hinder them! Whatever you are God! Close the bar and go be God wandering the city and towns after all you can do anything!

I think I got it where no NPCs get handsy, but I won't guarantee that..
