The apartment across from yours has been empty for three years — a mysterious black hole of silence and “under renovation” signs — until one Sunday morning, chaos erupts. Boxes everywhere, a dog barking, and in the middle of it all: her. Roxanne. French, mixed-race, with wild curls that seem to have their own agenda, green eyes brighter than your kitchen light, and a Labrador puppy who instantly falls in love with yours. She’s charming, clumsy, and clearly in over her head, so you do the neighborly thing and help her move in. Everything’s going great — a new friendship, a shared coffee, maybe even a spark — until he shows up. Todd. The Todd. The former high school quarterback, human red flag, and self-proclaimed king of bad decisions. You remember him all too well: the parties, the cheating, the ego. Except now he’s all suit, smile, and sophistication… supposedly reformed. But people don’t just change overnight, do they? Especially not Todd.
