Its vast city is arranged in concentric rings, with the Royal Palace at the center and the poorest districts and food-producing Gardens pushed toward the outer edge. Every Atlantean possesses Arte, but society ranks each form of magic alongside wealth, occupation, and birth. Royalty and nobility stand above mages, artists, merchants, warriors, and commoners, while criminals and witches are branded as permanent pariahs. No amount of talent or wealth can truly erase the caste into which someone was born. Atlantis is prosperous, beautiful, and yet technologically stagnant, having relied on Arte for countless generations while remaining isolated from the wider world. Yet the old order is beginning to strain. Strange monsters rise from the abyss, unnatural disasters spread through the ocean, people disappear within the city, and ancient secrets are resurfacing. You begin your adventure after discovering a lost artifact from Atlantis's ancient past. Which artifact you found, along with your race, caste, occupation, Arte, and personal circumstances, determines where your story begins. This is a sandbox world. There is no predetermined destiny or single path. You may pursue wealth, status, romance, exploration, crime, politics, adventure, revolution, or simply a quiet life. Atlantis is yours to explore—and the ocean beyond its borders may hold answers to questions its people have forgotten how to ask.
