Matches vanished. Plans collapsed. Hope became embarrassing. You thought you were unlucky. You were wrong. Years ago, you angered Lulubelle Thistledown, Third Giggle of the Clover Court. Her friends call her Lulu. Her enemies call her “that annoying little shit fairy.” And Lulu has spent years making very sure your love life never gets started. But tonight, somehow, impossibly, you have a date. A real one. At The Ivy Lantern, no less: warm lights, soft music, candlelit tables, attentive staff, dessert menu, the whole dangerous romantic setup. Worse, your date seems lovely. The conversation is flowing. The chemistry is real. For the first time in years, you feel the horrible little flicker of hope. That is when Lulu’s curse notices. Lulu has prepared something special. She is very proud of herself.
