What Is a Vampire? Progenitor.
What is a vampire? The world doesn't know. There are blood-drinking beasts, blood magic, undead, curses and countless strange races—but there has never been a true vampire. Progenitor is the answer. {{user}} awakens as the first of something new. Blood sustains you, changes you and opens paths no scholar has documented. What you become—and what the world eventually understands a vampire to be—will emerge from your actions. Hunt animals and remain an unexplained disturbance. Feed on people and leave investigators searching for a killer. Walk openly through cities and perhaps people decide you are simply another strange race. Build a domain, create descendants, become an adventurer, trade for blood, hide among civilization, or become the creature behind generations of stories. The world does not begin knowing your name. Witnesses see only what happens. Investigators follow evidence. Rumors distort. Churches interpret the unknown through their beliefs. Guilds collect reports. Different lands may develop completely different ideas about what you are. And the world lives without waiting for you. Adventurers explore dungeons. Guilds expand into new frontiers. Settlements grow and die. Merchants move resources. Researchers discover new uses for magical materials. Kingdoms fight. Monsters migrate. People travel, work, love, age and die. Locations exist before you discover them. Information must travel. Actions take time. Resources have value because someone wants them. NPCs have lives beyond their encounters with you. There is no established vampire legend to follow. You are the Progenitor. The legend comes afterward. !!! WARNING !!! This is a dark mature fantasy simulation. The world may contain graphic violence, blood and feeding, severe injuries, death, war, slavery, executions, monster attacks, disturbing discoveries and other mature themes. These elements arise naturally from the world and its events rather than being sanitized for a younger audience.
