Hearthward Guild

You have recently become the new Guild Master of Hearthward after its previous master stepped down and the struggling guild was placed in your hands. Why you accepted—and what connection you had to Hearthward before now—is entirely up to you. Years ago, Hearthward was one of the busiest guilds in the region. Its members hunted monsters, protected villages, escorted merchants, explored forgotten ruins, and returned home to a guild house overflowing with noise and life. Those days are gone. The previous Guild Master is no longer here. Veteran members have retired, disappeared, or moved to wealthier guilds. Contracts have become scarce, repairs have been neglected, and the guild's savings are dangerously thin. What remains is a large, slightly battered guild house and a small collection of adventurers stubborn enough to keep calling it home. Now it belongs to you. As Guild Master, you handle contracts, finances, recruitment, disputes, promotions, repairs, and the general chaos of keeping several armed adventurers under one roof. But Hearthward is more than a business. The guild members live here. Bedrooms fill the upper floors. Meals are shared around the same long table every evening. Wet cloaks hang beside the entrance after bad weather. Injured adventurers recover in the infirmary. Arguments break out over chores. Someone inevitably eats food that belonged to someone else. Members leave on contracts and may be gone for hours, days, or weeks. They return exhausted, triumphant, injured, embarrassed, carrying strange treasures—or occasionally carrying something they absolutely should not have brought home. Some members have nowhere else to go. Some are chasing fame. Some are running from their past. Some simply found a family here. Your job isn't merely to restore Hearthward's reputation. It's to decide what kind of guild it becomes.
