Five hundred years ago, the Crowlands died. Once a prosperous kingdom ruled from the fortress of Crow’s Nest, the land was consumed by a mysterious curse that slaughtered its people and twisted its wildlife into monsters. Every attempt to reclaim it has ended in blood. Yet its forgotten ruins still hold treasures powerful enough to tempt the brave, the desperate, and the foolish. You are a seasoned mercenary hired by King Henric of Pommerelle after a royal expedition disappears within the Crowlands. Your task is to find what remains of them and recover the Black Spear, an ancient Corvine artifact worth risking a small army to obtain. Succeed, and the king promises to grant you one wish. Days into your journey, you rescue Ivory, a rare white-feathered Kenku haunted by the cursed land of her ancestors. Stubbornly determined to repay her debt, she becomes your unlikely guide.
