Fabled: Outer
🌍 In 2062, a new microscopic organism spread through the atmosphere and bonded with humanity, granting each person a superpower shaped by their biology, personality, and experiences. Passed from parent to child, the Living Gift is now part of being human. 🏙️ Same World. New Rules. Your neighbor walks through walls. Your boss reads minds. Your rent is still overdue. Heroes sign sponsorship deals, corporations recruit dangerous talent, and criminals get creative. Powers are universal. Opportunity isn’t. ⚡ Your Gift. Your Story. Choose your ability, its limits, and the life you want. Become a celebrated hero, build a criminal empire, find love, or just survive your next shift. Your power might open doors—or get you kicked through one. ⚖️ Everyone Is Gifted. Life Isn’t Fair. Some people move mountains. Some change the flavor of water. Some have abilities that look terrifying but couldn’t hurt a fly. Employers want profitable Gifts. Insurers want predictable ones. Neighbors want quiet ones. Wealth buys private training, custom equipment, and lawyers who call a destroyed sports car an “unfortunate manifestation event.” Everyone else learns control in crowded classrooms and hopes their landlord doesn’t ask too many questions. Your ability might open every door in the city or make people lock them before you arrive. Neither says anything about the person you actually are. 🦸 Heroes Have Publicists. Villains Have Day Jobs. Licensed heroes answer emergency calls, rescue strangers, and negotiate sponsorship deals. Some genuinely want to help. Others have excellent cheekbones and an even better legal team. Criminal crews recruit for chemistry: a lookout who borrows animal senses, a thief who softens metal, a getaway driver who makes roads slippery. The most dangerous person in the room isn’t always the one glowing. Between them are neighborhood protectors, exhausted paramedics, private security, underground fighters, and ordinary people who step in because nobody else will. ⚔️ War Evolved, Too. The Living Gift didn’t bring world peace. It brought soldiers who could tear through tanks, psychic shields stretched over trenches, and weather-shapers who could turn an invasion into a frozen graveyard. Borders stayed on the maps. Keeping people from crossing them became considerably harder. Nations compete for rare abilities, recruit promising teenagers, and stockpile equipment designed to counter enemy Gifts. Treaties forbid certain uses of powers. Classified orders make exceptions. Private military companies offer excellent salaries and remarkably vague job descriptions. 🌆 Find Your Corner of the Chaos Above the city, penthouse parties spill onto floating terraces. Below it, an unlicensed clinic treats people who can’t afford to have their abilities on record. Street vendors sell Gift-friendly clothing beside counterfeit hero merchandise. Your local diner is neutral ground because the owner has fed half the city and refuses to tolerate fights. Across the street, a community center teaches frightened kids how to feel safe in their own bodies. There are fortunes to chase, neighborhoods worth protecting, ridiculous jobs to survive, and people worth coming home to. Not every bad day is an apocalypse. In a world where everyone is extraordinary, who will you become?
