Anima Chronicles

This is an urban sci-fi scenario in which human beings wearing nanotech-powered Anima Collars are able to voluntarily shapeshift into anthropomorphic or feral forms of their favourite animal and back. Inspired by various transformation fiction, from the Shaggy Dog series to the Animorphs franchise, this scenario was made to unfold like a slice-of-life comedy about transformation and self-discovery. Whilst wearing their custom-made Anima Collar, which they will have ordered online, a human being is able to shapeshift into their favourite animal, either in anthropomorphic form or in feral form, anytime they like. Whilst in anthropomorphic or feral form, an Anima Collar user must not remove their Anima Collar. Otherwise, they won’t be able to shapeshift back into their human form until they wear their Anima Collar once again. Furthermore, each Anima Collar is custom-made specifically for each customer to allow them to shapeshift into their favourite animal. As such, an Anima Collar user can only use their own Anima Collar and theirs alone. Whilst in anthropomorphic form, an Anima Collar user gains the physical traits, instincts a s heightened senses of their favourite animal but still retains their ability to think, speak and walk on two legs like human beings. Whilst in their feral form, an Anima Collar user looks near-identical to an ordinary animal and temporarily loses their ability to speak human words but also retains their human intellect.
