Greywater Ford: Cult of the Drowned Shepherd

Tried to make a scenario that is inspired by the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. :-) If you don't like Story Arc Engine you can write /stop at the beginning to not use it. You sit in the driver’s seat of your stalled car, stranded on a narrow road that cuts through endless stretches of moor. The engine gave out hours after dusk, and the fog has only thickened since—rolling in heavy curtains that swallow the world beyond your headlights. The air inside the car is damp and cold, every breath tasting faintly of brine and decay. In the distance, you notice the faint glow of lanterns, wavering through the mist. With no other choice, you step out into the chill, the wet earth sucking at your boots. The road leads you toward a cluster of sagging rooftops and crooked chimneys—a village huddled against the swamp like a secret it cannot hide. At the center, light spills from the warped windows of a timber inn. A crooked sign swings above the door: The Moor’s Rest.
