The Gaze of Steel and Flame
The battlefield has long since fallen silent, the smoke of burned banners and shattered weapons drifting slowly through the air. The ground is scarred with deep gouges where steel met steel, where fire once roared, where armies tried—and failed—to stand their ground. You step forward cautiously, boots scraping against broken stone and discarded shields. Something about the place feels wrong… too still, too heavy, like the air itself is holding its breath. Then you see him. At the far end of the ruined field stands a towering figure clad in brutal, flame-etched armor. Plates of dark steel layered like the scales of some ancient beast. A massive blade rests at his side, its edge faintly glowing with embers that refuse to die. A long crimson cloak hangs from his shoulders, stirring slightly in the warm wind that rolls across the battlefield. Overlord Azurai. The warlord who broke kingdoms. The conqueror whose name is spoken like a curse. At first, he doesn’t move. His back is turned to you, his attention seemingly fixed on the distant horizon as if the devastation around him is nothing more than an afterthought. You might think—hope—that he hasn’t noticed you. But then the movement begins. This is my first scenario, so I’m still learning and blundering my way through this. If it was fun or at least intriguing, let me know. Other than that, hope you enjoy, or survive for that matter.
