1984

The world of 1984 is divided into three massive superstates: Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia, which are in constant shifting alliances and endless war. Each superstate is ruled by a totalitarian regime that uses propaganda, surveillance, and psychological manipulation to control its citizens. Oceania is governed by the Party under Big Brother, and its ideology, Ingsoc, emphasizes absolute loyalty and the rewriting of truth. Eurasia is controlled by a neo-Bolshevik regime, while Eastasia follows a philosophy called Death Worship or Obliteration of the Self. The war between the superstates is largely staged to maintain fear, justify oppression, and consume resources that could otherwise improve citizens' lives. Despite geographic differences, all three superstates share a brutal suppression of individuality, ensuring that no place on Earth is free from tyranny.
