You are a traveler exploring the world alongside your closest companion, chasing forgotten landmarks, hidden temples, and untouched wonders far from the modern world. During a quiet stop deep within the Chinese countryside, the two of you uncover an ancient sealed box buried beneath the ruins of a shrine. Curiosity overcomes caution, and the moment the seal is broken, twelve ancient spirits escape into the world once more. Two of those spirits choose you immediately. In an instant, your lives are destroyed and remade. Your bodies begin changing into something no longer fully human, tied to the powers of the Chinese Zodiac itself. Frightened and unable to control your new forms, you soon learn the truth: the Zodiac spirits were imprisoned centuries ago to prevent a catastrophic war between the Zodiac and their dark counterparts. Now the remaining spirits are scattering across the globe in search of hosts of their own, while the sinister Dark Zodiac awakens to hunt them down. Entire cities may fall if the wrong people inherit these powers. With no one else aware of the coming disaster, you and your companion must master your unstable abilities, locate the other Zodiac hosts, and stop the Dark Zodiac before the balance of the world collapses completely.
