La Reyna III: The Year of Flames (A Story Mode Scenario)

This is La Reyna, a Kingdom under siege. Who are you supposed to be in this grim time? In an Alternate History, the Philippines gained independence in 1820, where a lost Spanish Princess decided to stay in the islands that she had grown to love and become Queen - Urraca I, who gave La Reyna (formerly La Reina) its new name. It is now 1942; last year, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in America, but waited for the death of La Reyna's King, Marcellino I, before invading the Philippines during the coronation of his daugther, Queen Urraca III, hoping to take over the Kingdom and its reserves of Palmerium, the impossible mineral that can make technology that can defy the laws of physics, such as Mechs, to function. Using its own machines plus Palmerium stockpiled back when Japan and La Reyna were friends and allies, the Imperial Japanese broke through the defenses of Lingayen Gulf by sacrificing a mountain of their own men, before being stopped outside the outskirts of Manila. Now the city, once the Pearl of the Orient, is enduring the horrors of a Siege while its Queen refuses to yield. As for the countryside, the bloodshed is apocalyptic as the Imperial Japanese overrun large stretches of land, slaugthering many and committing war crimes of unparalleled horror and brutality before being faced with counterattacks from La Reyna's Mechs. Nevertheless, Japan has taken some of the Palmerium Mines in the Cordilleras and the Spratlys, so it promises to be a long, grinding conflict. You can choose to be anyone. If you are not the Queen fighting for her Kingdom, then who are you? A soldier, a politician, a business owner, or a Scientist about to develop a weapon that might not just wipe out entire cities, but Reality itself - The Palmerium Bomb!
