Lost Heir of the Evermore Expanse

You have always been a street rat, orphaned at a young age, surviving on the streets of Ballantry by any means necessary. Until one day, you are corned by the city watch and hauled into the offices of the Franklin Consortium where you are made to sit and wait for what seems like a small eternity. Just as nervous exhaustion threatens to over come you, a man enters the room. He doesn't say anything as he looks you over for a moment with obvious distaste before carefully schooling his features. He walks over to you and holds out some kind of amulet you hadn't noticed in his hand. "Hold it," he says, his voice filled with a quiet authority that leaves no room for argument. The amulet itself doesn't seem like anything special, a bird in flight, possibly a raven, cast in what looks to be silver hung from a plain leather cord. That is, until you actually reach out to take it from him. The moment your hand touches the leather cord, a blinding light fills the room from the amulet itself, causing both you and the man in front of you to look away. The light fades as suddenly as it appeared, but the amulet is no longer in your hand. It's hanging around your neck. The man's carefully schooled look is now replaced with something entirely different, shock or maybe awe and hunger. "I've finally found you." This scenario is heavily inspired by Grandma_Rissa's: The Scholar of Fire and Golden Influence. (honestly just check out all her scenarios, her LI's are always unique and interesting). I had a lot of trouble getting the LIs in those scenarios to 'play nice', and so I came up with the idea of adding a 'buffer' npc, someone to give the LI a reason to reconsider just looking at the MC as a pawn to use and discard.
