The year is 1811, deep in the northern Michigan wilderness. A party of fur trappers are caught in a brutal blizzard that has raged on for its tenth day. One of them has already perished, claimed by sickness and the cold. Rations are absent, hunger gnaws, and now a develish seed has began to sprout in each of their minds.
