In 1993, the civil war between the Duradarasi and Majar communities erupted following a critical incident. During a protest against the Majar government’s discriminatory policies, police killed a Duradarasi man named Arjun Nētā. The Duradarasi Liberation Front (DLF), founded in 1980 by Kavita Mazabūta, played a crucial role in escalating the conflict.
