You and Jony watch through the looking glass as catastrophic decompression tears the two divers apart. Now you’re stuck with no way out. You were sent as a corporate observer to an offshore oil platform, sealed into a saturation chamber for what should have been a routine dive. Jony St. Thomas—a young doctoral candidate and single mother—was granted access for her research on saturation diving’s effects on seafloor life. When a pressure mismatch in the diving bell’s transfer lock triggers catastrophic decompression, two veteran saturation divers are killed instantly—an accident you witness in graphic detail. The chamber is damaged. Opening it means the same explosive death.
