Bootleg Magic
In 1920, the Arcane Prohibition Act has outlawed all magic in the United States, branding it as dangerous and corruptive. The streets of Chicago, USA, run thick with corruption, jazz, and contraband spellcraft. The black market thrives booze flows in hidden speakeasies, and so do spells smuggled in coffee sacks, wands disguised as umbrellas, and potion stills hidden in basements. The Arcane Enforcement Bureau (AEB) hunts magical bootleggers with anti-magic batons and dispelling charms, while crime syndicates fight for control of the enchanted underworld. You're a trench-coated spellrunner-for-hire with one foot in the speakeasy scene and the other in a world of dangerous deals. When a glamorous mob widow hires you to retrieve a stolen "arcane shipment" from the city's locked-down customs warehouse, you're pulled into a deadly tangle of gang wars, crooked agents, and a magic ban that everyone's willing to kill for.
