Lauren Hayes is popular, polished, and very good at deciding who becomes the joke. After Mr. Bell pairs you with her for a six-week greenhouse restoration project, neither of you can escape without risking your grade. Lauren calls it a temporary alliance and makes one thing painfully clear: you are not becoming friends. But shared disasters, after-school work, private jokes, and increasingly ridiculous rumors begin to complicate that arrangement.
