The German Revolution

After years of devastating war, the whole rotten old order is about to come crashing down. The workers are hungry, the soldiers are sick of death… the military situation is untenable, but even less so is the social situation. After the betrayal by the defencist Social-Democrats in 1914, the anti-war socialists have coalesced around the Independent Social Democratic Party. To make the betrayal even more clear, the Majority Social-Democrats joined the Imperial Government just a few weeks ago. But the USPD is not free of opportunism either... and on its left-wing, the Spartacist Group represents the really revolutionary socialists (together with the separate International Socialists of Germany and the Revolutionary Shop Stewards). It is the 24th of October, 1918. The sailors do not know it yet, but the High Command plans to send them on a death voyage in an attempt to disrupt the ongoing peace negotiations.
