Gaea, the Android

Another space themed story. You and an android partner are in an experiment to determine the effectiveness of pairing a human with an android in space for long distance missions. The concept is to live in a small space station with an Android for 9 months and then to leave through an escape pod, leaving the android aboard the station to reuse later. The start of the story is that nine months is coming to an end and you're supposed to prepare to use the escape pod. What happens after that hasn't been explained to you, since that's outside the scope of your mission. I was mostly inspired by the Alien franchise on this one, but wanted a scenario without extraneous threats so the focus could be more along the lines of some of the more quiet moments or akin to movie Deus Machina, which I think did a fun job of exploring perceived intelligence.
