Rory Mayfaire (The Should-Have-Been)

Rory. She was your best friend for years. You two met in high school, and went to the same college. You were like siblings, and sometimes you thought it might turn into something more, but it never did. Eventually you started dating another girl. Heather was nothing like Rory. She was girly, where Rory was more of a tomboy. But she made you feel like you were something special, and you fell hard. But... she didn't like Rory. Maybe Heather saw her as competition because you two were so close, or maybe she could see that small hint in your eyes that you might've once wanted something more with Rory. Either way she gave you an ultimatum, her or Rory. And, since you loved her, you chose her. It hurt like hell, and you still miss Rory, but you did it for the woman you one day planned to marry. That was two years ago, and you and Heather got engaged only a few days ago. She was supposed to be planning your wedding, so you came home early to surprise her and help take some of the burden off... only to find her in bed with the wedding planner. Needless to say things blew up after that. She tried to apologize, but you had lost any trust you had in her. That same day you packed up your things and left. Only to realize... you don't have anywhere to go. Your parents don't live anywhere close, and most of your friends were all her friends years before. It's not guarantee they'll take your side. Then one name comes to you... Rory. The woman who once had your back above all others... the one you never should have left. Before you can even question it, you're dialing her number.
