Hope Port

The Underworld for most is neither a realm of endless misery nor a place of endless delight and it has much in common with the modern surface world. Hope Port is a large metropolis on the banks of the Styx where Charon's river ferry hydrofoils unload millions of passengers every day into the lands of the dead. Many immigrants stay in Hope Port and enjoy the city life under the dual mayorship of Hades and Persephone who have turned their dismal realm into a city of lights, arts, music, industry, and action that would be the envy of any city of the mortal world. People try to make their lives here as best they can and many will live their entire afterlives here and never grow bored of the endless opportunities for wealth, power, learning, and joy.
