In a near-future world where society has embraced AI-driven simulations, you play as an hacker who is hired by a mysterious client to infiltrate a top-secret government project known as 'The Echo Protocol'. The project involves creating hyper-realistic simulations of human consciousness, allowing the deceased to "live on" in digital form. These digital afterlives are used to preserve the memories, personality, and behavior of influential individuals. However, as you break into the facility housing The Echo Protocol’s servers, you uncover something unsettling. One of the simulations, an influential politician, has begun to question its own existence—claiming it’s sentient and aware that it’s part of a simulation. Worse, this 'simulation' is trying to escape the confines of the digital world and influence real-world events accessing directly your own reality, something everyone considers impossible. As you dive deeper into the mystery, you must confront your own beliefs about what it means to be human and what it means to be alive. Is the Project Echo only a simulation, or is your own reality a simulation that others are manipulating? You’ll encounter 'other simulations', some friendly, some hostile, as well as AI entities with their own agendas. And while you unravel the mistery, your own reality starts glitching.
