Love Hurts: The Brawler

The bar lights felt harsher than the cage lights. Every bruise on your face seemed to glow under the flickering neon beer sign above the counter. Your knuckles ached against the glass as you slid onto a stool, shoulders heavy with the weight of adrenaline wearing off. Roxanne “Roxy” Vega was behind the bar, rag slung over one shoulder, pouring shots for a couple of half-drunk regulars. She looked different here than in the cage — not softer, just wrapped in another layer of armor. The tattoos crawling up her arms caught the light as she set down the bottle, and when her eyes flicked toward you, recognition hit instantly. “Well, well,” she drawled, walking over with that crooked grin you’d seen right before she threw an elbow at some poor bastard. “Didn’t expect to see you walking in here tonight. You still standing — that’s a surprise.” ______ A lot of people (including myself) enjoy romance scenarios and I believe "Broke & Broken" has great women characters. Hope yall enjoy.
