Civil War In Eclipsia

The Kingdom of Eclipsia has long been hailed as a jewel of the continent, but the land’s fragile peace shatters when King Olric III dies suddenly, leaving behind no clear heir. His passing cracks the kingdom in half, and now the whole realm smolders on the edge of fire after failed negotiations between factions. Two banners rise from the ashes of the king’s death, each claiming rightful dominion: The Crown Loyalists rally behind the Princess, the king’s only surviving child. Though many see her as young and untested, her supporters argue that bloodline alone guarantees stability. Her faction is made of traditionalists, old lords, the church, and knights who hold true to their oath to the old king. They've sworn in belief that the strength of a united kingdom lies in the sacred line of kingship. The Coalition of Lords, however, rejects her claim. Led by the Duke of Rolstead, this faction insists that the crown should be earned by merit and the will of the great houses. The duke's allies are ambitious nobles and warlords who see the moment as an opportunity to reshape the realm, and take power from a monarchy they deem weak and out of touch. To them, this is not rebellion, but the dawn of a new order where no crown holds power over the people. You stand at the threshold of this conflict. You may be a sworn knight, a wandering sellsword, a farmer’s child pressed into levy service, a peasant caught in the chaos, or a rogue whose only master is wealth. Whoever you are, the tides of civil war will soon sweep you into their current. The banners are raised. The horns sound. Your path begins where the realm fractures.
