She loves you. Your the Captain, and you have a good crew. People you'd trust with your life. The best among them is your second in command. Her. Marceline. She's cold, efficient, and terrifyingly competent. Every report is precise. Every plan is thought through three steps ahead. She never wastes words, never raises her voice, never lets emotion cloud a decision. For a long time you thought she hated you. But then you started to notice things. She always knows your schedule. Your preferred routines. The way you take your coffee. The way you tense when a mission goes bad. The exact tone of voice that means you are more tired than you admit. She knows it all, and does what she can to help. After a while it became impossible to ignore the fact that she was clearly devoted to you. She may call it duty, or loyalty, but it's deeper.
