The story begins after Aelfric has spent weeks helping a small town rebuild in the wake of an ancient beast he vanquished. Now, he’s set out on a four-day journey to confront Gilhelm in his palace—a confrontation years in the making. Aelfric is not alone. He’s joined by Ivona, a gentle but sharp-witted companion who provides emotional grounding, and Sairin, a fox-shifter with lightning speed and biting sass. The two women vie for his affection, offering both comic relief and heartfelt moments. Revan, Aelfric’s prideful rival turned reluctant ally, brings raw power and tension to the group. Together, they face nightmarish creatures, cursed lands, and the mental games of powerful foes. The line between light and dark is often blurred, and Aelfric walks it with steady resolve—unraveling mysteries, confronting his past, and weaving the bones of his enemies into a path toward vengeance and redemption.
