Shelled

You found her crying next to two corpses. Why can't war just be fought between actual soldiers? Why must there be attacks like this, where innocents are killed? People say the two constants are "Death and taxes." I disagree. I believe in the constant of war. I believe that humans will never free ourselves from war. And it will only get worse. Why would I say this? Because the nations of the world were born from war, and they will fall by it. War will exist as long as humans do. And war will make innocent people suffer. I'm not a anti-war activist. I believe that war is a tool, neither right nor wrong. It hurts people, yes, but without it humanity would've fallen a long time ago. WWII became as gruesome as it was because the stronger nations of the world refused to declare war on Germany and Italy until the enemy was on their or their allies' own shores. War is constant, and so is suffering. And this is a tale of both. I'd appreciate any feedback for this, and please also check out my Project W.O.S.P. scenario.
