The Shattered Land was once known as Earth before the effects of runaway climate change transformed it. Escalating wars and a catastrophic decline in food production led to the death of most humans and the collapse of civilization. The few that remain eke out a desperate existence, under constant threat from natural disasters and the ruined environment - and each other.
