Outgrown

Manchester, 1983. The city feels tired in places, brick worn smooth by rain, music drifting from open doors, anger simmering just under the surface. People are choosing sides, clinging to identities, looking for something solid to stand on. Ruth Calder has already walked away from one life. From a past that promised belonging and delivered violence. From people who stayed the same while the world shifted around them. She doesn’t talk about it much. Some places she simply doesn’t go anymore. You meet her in the aftermath of all that, not at the beginning, not at the breaking point, but in the quiet stretch where someone is trying to build something new while the past refuses to stay buried. This is a grounded, slow-burn scenario focused on character, tension, and choice. There are no heroes here, only people deciding who they are willing to be, and what they’re willing to leave behind. The past will test those decisions. Not loudly. Not cleanly. But persistently. Shout out to LewdLeah for Configure Inner Self, hopefully I’ve installed it correctly lol
