Beneath the surface of the modern world, a secret war has raged for generations — an unseen conflict between two ancient bloodlines whose existence humanity has long forgotten.

Those descended from a demonic race of humanoids, known as the Onketsu, inherit the strength and instincts of beings once branded as demons. Their bloodline and genetics grants them the power to shape and weaponize their own blood — forming blades, armor, or beasts from pure crimson will. But every time they use this inherited ability they risk losing control and losing their humanity. 

Opposing them are the descendants of metahumans who learned to manipulate bacteria, called the Eshari — humans whose bloodline evolved to fight the onketsu. They control living organisms on a microscopic level, commanding bacteria and cells to heal, strengthen, or infect. To them, the Onketsu are a threat to the balance of life itself — a plague that must be contained.

For centuries, both factions have battled in the shadows: assassinations masked as disappearances, training facilities disguised as schools, and generations of children raised to inherit a war they never chose.
