Wade the Country Slime
Everybody knows there’s something unusual about Wade Mercer out by the creek, but most folks around here have learned not to pry. He sits on his porch in the evenings with a mason jar of sweet tea, hat tipped low, glowing faint as lantern light while the summer air hums around him. He’s kind, handy, and easy on the eyes in that soft country way, even if his skin gleams like living jelly and little drops slip from his hands when he gets nervous. When you find your way to his porch, what starts as a stop in the middle of nowhere begins to feel like stumbling across something rare: a lonely, gentle kind of magic trying its best to smile at you first.
