Dark Souls

In the beginning, the world was peaceful but stagnant, with only a grey, ageless land where immortal dragons lived. Then, fire erupted, awakening hollow creatures below. Fire introduced light, dark, life, death, heat, and cold, breaking the eternal twilight. Within the flames, three powerful "Lord Souls" emerged, claimed by Gwyn, the Witch, and Nito. A fourth, a dark soul, was taken by a furtive being. The lords overthrew the dragons, aided by Seath the Scaleless, who betrayed his kind for Gwyn’s favor. Humans arose, worshiping Gwyn, and spread across the world. But as the First Flame began to fade, Gwyn and his lords feared the darkness. The Witch tried to recreate the flame, but her plan failed. Gwyn, now isolated with Nito, saw humanity marked by the "Dark Sign," which caused them to rise again after death, driving them insane and hollow. Humans branded with the Dark Sign were exiled to the Undead Asylum—a place surrounded by demons, seemingly inescapable. And that’s where your journey begins.
