You've never understood why people make such a big deal about relationships. It's not that you hate seeing couples together. You're just tired of being reminded that, somehow, everyone else seems to have someone while you're still sitting alone. Then a new seating arrangement puts you beside Iris Bellamy, a girl who seems to have exactly the same problem. You quickly become friends through shared complaints, stupid jokes, and the mutual agreement that dating is completely overrated. At least, that's what you both keep saying. Because somewhere between the inside jokes, late conversations, and getting a little too used to having each other around, something starts feeling different.
