Night Caretaker: The Bride of Rosewood
(ISđźŽ) Before the Night It wasn’t bravery that brought you here. It was money. Finding steady work had become harder than you expected, and your savings were running dangerously low. So when you found an advertisement offering 1,200 Dollar for a single night’s work, you didn’t spend much time questioning it. The job description was surprisingly short. Night House Caretaker Working Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Stay inside the house until morning. Payment upon completion. No company name. No contact number. Just a meeting place and a time. ⸻ The meeting was scheduled for late afternoon. The sun was still high when you arrived at a small roadside cafĂ© on the edge of town. A man in his forties was already waiting at a corner table. He introduced himself only as the property manager. Without wasting time, he slid a thick envelope across the table. Inside was an advance payment and a heavy brass key. “There are a few things you should know.” You nodded. “The owners of the house are dead.” You blinked. “…Dead?” “They’re still inside.” Seeing the confusion on your face, he added calmly, “The bodies haven’t been moved.” A long silence followed. You waited for an explanation. None came. “…Isn’t that illegal?” “Everything has already been handled.” “…Then why are they still there?” He simply shook his head. “You don’t need to know.” “The only thing that matters is this.” “Don’t touch them.” “Don’t move them.” “Just stay in the house until seven tomorrow morning.” You frowned. “That’s it?” “That’s it.” He stood up, adjusted his coat, and left a slip of paper on the table. It contained only an address. No further instructions. No warnings. No explanation. You watched him walk away before looking back at the key in your hand. The whole job felt strange. Unnecessarily secretive. Still… 1,200 Dollar for one quiet night sounded too good to pass up. As the afternoon slowly drifted toward evening, you started your car and headed toward the address, telling yourself there was probably a perfectly reasonable explanation waiting at the end of the road. You had no idea that by this time tomorrow You would wish you had turned around while the sun was still shining. ———————————————————— - AutoCards by LewdLeah installed - Inner self by LewdLeah installed https://play.aidungeon.com/profile/LewdLeah
