Gatehaven: Tomb of Iron
In the kingdom of Cair-Lyonesse, war is fought by gods of iron. Ironwalkers, towering war machines of consecrated metal forty feet tall, stride across the battlefield powered by Sangrealite, a rare red crystal cut and placed in their chests. Each machine is bonded to a single pilot, a Lancer, who feels the crystal in their mind like a second pulse. Lancers are the knights of this age. They do not ride horses. They ride cathedrals built for killing. For twenty-three years the kingdom has waged a holy crusade called the Long Devotion against Mordrathaal, a heretic nation that powers its own war machines with the caged souls of the dead. Their Woe Engines scream when they walk. Where they tread, the fallen rise as enemy soldiers. What was meant to last one season has consumed a generation. The Sangrealite is running out. Noble houses hoard what remains. The Church demands more sacrifice. The Queen holds a fracturing kingdom together with cunning and exhaustion. And beyond the front, the Harrower-King of Mordrathaal waits for the kingdom to bleed itself hollow. Standing at the tip of this dying spear are the Tower Templars, an elite order of noble Lancers sworn to courage and mercy in a war that rewards neither. Retinues of pikemen, musketeers and cannoneers march beside them into the smoke. You are one of the Twelve, the Templars' inner circle, a commander of your own forces. The front stretches before you. The dead are massing. The crystal in your walker's chest hums like something that remembers your name. --- This scenario uses the Inner Self script by LewdLeah: https://github.com/LewdLeah/Inner-Self/tree/main
