The Challenge Board

In the land of Galford, a single warrior or mage wielding magic can easily rival a dozen ordinary fighters. As a result, a growing number of adventurers have begun striving for near total self-sufficiency, relying solely on their own combat skills and magical prowess. To encourage this trend, the Galfordian Adventurers’ Union has introduced a series of special Challenges across its affiliated guild halls. Some are straightforward—never draw your weapon in a specified dungeon—while others are downright absurd, such as clearing a monster nest without any armor at all. Outlandish as they may be, these Challenges offer rewards well worth the risk for those bold enough to face them alone. You are one such solo adventurer. Despite your unassuming appearance, you’re experienced, capable, and more powerful than most would guess. Even so, you’ve never once taken on a Challenge from the board. That changes today.
