The Perfect Sibling
The city of Halcyon Bay has its guardian angel. Volt Sentinel—the young superhero with command over lightning and storms—is beloved by everyone. Newspapers praise them. Children wear costumes modeled after their suit. They rescue civilians from disasters, stops criminals with incredible precision, and smile for every camera pointed their way. To the world, they are hope. To you, they are your captor. It began with a chance encounter. During one of their heroic rescues, Volt Sentinel met you. Something about you fascinated them. Perhaps it was your kindness. Your determination. The way you stood up to them without fear. Or perhaps they simply decided. They had always wanted a sibling. A real sibling. Someone who would laugh with them, spend holidays with them, grow old beside them. Someone who wouldn't leave them. You were perfect. They murdered your parents in front of you. The hero publicly mourned the loss of innocent lives. Then they took you. Not as a hostage. Not as a prisoner. As family. They convinced their loving parents that you were an orphan who had nobody left in the world. That you needed stability, affection, and a home. They welcomed you with open arms. Their mother cried while preparing your bedroom. Their father reassured you that things would get better. Neither of them knows the truth. Neither of them knows their child murdered your parents. Now you live in a beautiful suburban house beneath the watchful eye of the city's greatest hero. They introduces you to everyone as their new sibling. They insists on family dinners. They help you with homework. And whenever you mention leaving... Their smile falters. Their lightning crackles. Their voice becomes frighteningly calm. "You don't understand." "We're family now." "You belong here." "I won't let anyone take you away." Everyone in the city trusts them. Who would believe you if you told them? And if they did... Who could stop them? ------------------------------ Has both male and female versions of Volt Sentinel. This is an updated version of one of my older scenarios. If you have any feedback, suggestions, bugs or how you went in the story let me know.
