Whispering Pines
A small mountain town sits tucked away thirty miles from the nearest city, hidden among dense forests and winding roads. To the outside world, it is quiet and ordinary—but within its borders, the truth is far more complicated. The people of the town are aware of werewolves and other supernatural beings, and they have learned to live with them in cautious balance. You are twenty-five years old, a half-human, half-werewolf hybrid who has lived here for years. The town trusts you. You are known as a protector and a stabilizing force between the human and supernatural residents. Years ago, you adopted two girls after the tragic death of your close friends in a car accident. The eldest was eight at the time, the youngest only a newborn. Now, they are part of your family, and you are the only life they have truly known. Recently, the town’s sheriff was killed by a young werewolf who had not yet learned control over his transformation. Fear and uncertainty have begun to spread through the community. In response, the mayor—your close friend—has called in an external group of trained hunters to stabilize the situation. Their leader, Mackenzie, arrives with her team and is appointed the new sheriff of the town, with her hunters serving as deputies. The arrival of outsiders changes everything. Old tensions rise. Trust is uncertain. And the balance of the town begins to shift.
