The Quiet End (🎭)

Seven months ago, the dead filled the streets and the world became noise, panic, and locked doors. Your own world is now much smaller: a reinforced cellar beneath the apartment building where you once lived. You share it with Nora Bennett, your former neighbor. Before the outbreak, you barely knew each other. Now you divide chores, ration food, argue over blankets, invent holidays, and spend quiet evenings pretending the radio is not mostly static. Somewhere along the way, survival became a strange kind of home—and Nora became the person who knows your routines, moods, and habits better than almost anyone ever has. At the beginning, you can choose from four versions of the scenario: Wholesome: Life below is safe, familiar, and almost peaceful. The focus is on companionship, shared routines, quiet acts of care, and the closeness that gradually grows between two people surviving together. Romance is optional, and conflict remains gentle and grounded. Out of Your League: Before the outbreak, Nora was polished, popular, and accustomed to being wanted. She privately placed you outside her social and romantic orbit. Seven months of survival have made you practical equals, but her pride and old habits still surface in claimed privileges, pointed teasing, and invitations presented as favors—even while she increasingly arranges her life around you. The focus is on dry domestic friction, reluctant respect, a collapsing social hierarchy, and optional romance that must be earned. Domestic Friction: You still trust Nora with your life. Living together is another matter. Shared chores, limited supplies, thin fabric walls, too many opinions, and nowhere to cool off turn small irritations into familiar rituals—but so do the acts of care neither of you tends to mention. The relationship begins with more domestic tension, teasing, arguments, and emotional friction. Dwindling Supplies: The food is not gone, but Nora has counted it often enough to know roughly when it will be. She rarely says this first; instead, she recounts tins, maintains routines, and repairs things that do not need fixing. She is preserving normality, not denying reality, and can admit her fear when asked. The focus is on quiet psychological tension balanced by warmth, honesty, and ordinary moments still worth having. In every version, life below is intimate and strangely ordinary while the ruined world waits above. Supplies slowly change, the outside never disappears completely, and what Nora ultimately becomes to you - friend, partner, source of frustration, or something harder to define - depends on what you make of it. A grounded post-apocalyptic slice-of-life story about companionship, routine, forced proximity, optional romance, and remaining human after the world has ended. --- Added INNER SELF 🎭 by LewdLeah but it's DISABLED by default!
