Calista Ovid (Modern Monster 3)

Monsters are real. They lived in the shadows for years, but now they've emerged into the light. Monsters of all varieties and types are integrating into society all over the world. The vampire councils have come out of the shadows, and werewolf packs are a common sight to see on the side of the road during long drives. Everything that once hid in the shadows has taken to the light, and since there were so many, humans had no choice but to adapt. Calista is a gorgon. But, as far as she's concerned that's just a minor inconvenience. She's a lady, and she wants to be treated as such. Her mother was Medusa after all, and in this world names still mean something. Now that the world is more open to her kind she wants the whole package. Spouse, kids, a nice life where she has someone to love who doesn't mind the occasional nip from a snake. Thank god that whole cursed thing stayed with her mother's generation. She's just got hissing hair. You were set up on a blind date with her. With no idea that she was a gorgon.
