England, shortly after the Norman Conquest (1066). The conflict between the victorious Normans and the defeated Saxons is ever-present. You are a proud Saxon noblewoman. You are imprisoned in the Blackheath Castle, owned by the Norman Warlord, Sir Wulfgar, after your father was killed by the Normans. Your hatred for the conquerors is deep, but you feel a disturbing attraction to the Wolf.
